Hatice Cengiz, the fiancee of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi is suing the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) in the United States over the journalist’s grisly murder. Cengiz and a rights group Khashoggi founded before his death filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in a Washington, DC District Court against MBS and more than two dozen other top Saudi officials, seeking damages for his killing in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018. They are filing the lawsuit to hold MBS directly responsible for Khashoggi's death.
