A veteran Ugandan opposition figure has appeared in court on terrorism charges. Kizza Besigye was reportedly taken in a covert operation, while visiting neighbouring Kenya in November. He was then flown to Uganda, bypassing formal extradition procedures. He's a well-known critic of Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni. and has challenged him for the Presidency four times.
