US campus protests against Israel intensify

University students across the United States are in their second week of protests on college campuses, calling for a Gaza ceasefire and divestment from Israeli institutions backing the actions in the besieged enclave. The City University of New York has become a centre for student activism for peace in Gaza, following Columbia University's lead. Students at The City College of New York garnered attention on social media for preventing officers from forcefully arresting a fellow protester during a Gaza Solidarity Encampment at the North Campus Quad.
