‘Israel is the provocateur’ in the standoff with Iran: Analysis

The US is preparing new sanctions against Iran, in coordination with its allies. Washington is expected to target Tehran's missile and drone programme, in the wake of Iran's strike on Israel. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says every option is on the table to disrupt what she called Iran's 'terrorism financing.' Israel has been calling for greater sanctions, after Iran fired more than 300 drones and missiles against it on Saturday. Hassan Ahmadian, a professor of Middle East and North Africa studies at the University of Tehran, says the threat of more sanctions against Iran’s military sector won’t concern authorities because there’s nothing left to sanction.
