In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, US envoy Amos Hochstein detailed the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire agreement. He described it as a permanent ceasefire, starting at 4 am Beirut time, halting all military actions. Initially, Israeli forces will remain in border areas while the Lebanese army redeploys. Over 60 days, Israeli troops will gradually withdraw as Lebanese forces assume control. Hochstein emphasised the need for gradual implementation to avoid past failures, citing lessons from 2006. The agreement includes immediate ceasefire measures and phased elements to ensure long-term stability.
